Hi SOAPNUTS are great they work well in any machine (they are low sudsing) sustainable, cheap, non toxic, no residue. I get mine by mail order over the net. Best thing is you don’t “have” to make anything up, you can just use them in a bit of supplied netting straight in the machine.. However you can make up a liquid if you want & use it for…[Read more]

It’s a bad year for macadamias. The organic wholesaler has none stating ‘unavailable this season due to poor weather conditions’

It’s a type of wicking system but instead of a medium to hold water you use some sort of container to hold more water. I’m building one in bed form. I’ll try & post some photos when done.

    Hi Bron

My daughters place in Mackay was completely taken over by mould when they were away for 7 days & the house was closed up. She researched & found that OIL OF CLOVES actually kills mould spores unlike bleach which just takes away the black/green marks & doesn’t kill them & she did sponge her fabric lounge with it & it worked fine. She now…[Read more]

🙂 Out near car yard & Hardly Normal-only fairly new-but hold off cos I’m not sure it is actually wicking! It definitely lets water flow straight through & stops fines from getting through, but I had also thought to use a piece to get water wicking from the bottom-my test piece isn’t doing any such thing as yet

Hi Blue Wren, I’m just in the middle of making my first wicking bed & bought geofabric at Reece Plumbing in Kingaroy today. They have it in 600mm wide, 1200mm & 2 mt wide. The 2 metre is $5.50 mt. It is called Drain Mat on their listings. I will test out it’s wicking ability tonight when I get home & will post how it goes 🙂
