Depending on where you are living, there is a real possibility that it is frost damage, in which case it wont matter how long they are on the bush for. But if the other citrus are ok, maybe that is not the answer.

looks like we have ended up with that potato mosaic virus. the leaves all have small brown spots on them. was hoping it was something easy like rust instead, but when we have dug up the potatoes they have small pimple like textures to their skin.
never mind. try again in 5 yrs time.

with gherkins you also need to make sure that the powdery mildew doesnt get to them. Also dont let them get too big, they are bitter if they are too old.

Hi Ash, not quiet sure what type of shadecloth you are looking for, but Bunnings at Marion have a large variety in varying widths. We used a 98% shadecloth from there for our cat run to help protect our animals, and a 50% one that we use around the tamarillo tree.

Hi Janine,
this is our greenhouse. My DH came up with the design and he made the framework so that it can be dismantled easily (Steel). We spent a little extra money and got a locking system for the plastic so it too could be dismantled in easy peices.

Hi Burnsy,
the trout should be ok as long as the water doesnt go over 27 degrees and you are pumping in lots of oxygen. We lost ours on a 42 degree day after having several days of 40.

DH is the only person in this family that loves them. I will occassionaly have a couple.
I usually put in 8 plants and we get enough beans for a 1yr and a 1/2. But i do admit to not making anything fancy with them. Just bang a handful in with the other steamed veg.
