Hi all, Crazy wind in Tassie as well. It has been going for three days now and is still pretty strong. A near miss at the Salamanca markets yesterday,.,.they called the market off because of the wind and just after the stall holders had packed up a huge…really huge elm tree fell, right where the stalls and people attending the markets had…[Read more]

  • Hi Bel, Dont get much of a chance to visit ALS at the moment but just had to have a look at your projects. Fantastic ….really impressive.   I love both of your projects, very clever indeed.

Hi All, thought I would pop in for a quick visit. Life is very busy at the moment so I will pop in from time to time when I get a chance. Thought I would do a quick catch up.

As I mentioned, all our piggies had their babies – 39 odd piglets at once, so that is fun. We have since sold two of the sows and their babies who are all going to the one…[Read more]

  • Hi Dianne, don’t get much of a chance to visit lately but I love your sewing. Very nice indeed, congratulations.

Thanks BlueWren and Bobbee, I will miss you both as well. I might drop in from time to time but I am barely having time to look at our own website let alone this one as well and got to a point were something has to give a bit, for the time being at least. ALS will always be special to me.

Hi luciatasman, sorry I did not see your comment until this morning. It has been a bit busy of late 😆

We moved from the Huon for a number of reasons, for us, we found it a bit busy and tending to go a bit trendy…just our opinion of course but I still do love the area. It would have to be one of the most asethically beautiful areas in the…[Read more]

Thanks luvin, bobbee and gianna for your kind comments.

fruitful, the last couple of weeks have been pretty full on, especially getting enough stock up to go to the market and also extra stock for some craft fairs we have coming up. We also have little piggies due any day now so the farm, of course still needs a reasonable amount of attention…[Read more]

Hi BlueWren, Yes, the feedback was lovely and most people had not seen that type of candle, and a few had seen them overseas. You use a feather type duster (probably the easiest) but even a soft cloth would be fine although a bit fidley.

Hi all, The markets went well yesterday. We sold a number of candles, polytunnel books and I have heaps of potential orders especially for remembrance candles (which I am really happy about because it is of particular importance to me). Anyway, thought I would put up a photo of the stall.

barefoot_misty, even if you dig them all up you will most likely find they will come back on their own without planting any more as it is almost impossible to get them all up and they grow amazing well (which is one of the reasons that I really like them).

  • Hey HT, that is exciting. An every night man Mmmmm… Keep working on his conversion 😆 Hope that does not mean you wont be coming back to Tas, or else you will have to drag him down for at least a visit. Good luck with the garden.

That is lovely feedback Dianne. Thank you.

Regarding the burning down they do take quite a while to burn down but if you want to keep the outside then when they have burned down enough to put in a tea light, you simply add one and replace as necessary (or any other candle really that fits for that matter) and then the outside stays permanent and…[Read more]

Thanks BlueWren, it is a lovely art expression as well as a practical candle, so pretty when lit as they glow all the way down through the carved sections.

Basically you cut slices, twist, curl and make patterns, rejoining the wax where you want it to form the design. The cuts take some time to master as they have to be exact and getting them…[Read more]

Blue Wren, yes, you do have to get on with it. Maybe I will make a video once I get over the initial movement of these and our other crafts. Life is a wee bit busy at the moment 😆
Thanks Matty Alan, I do love them.
Andre, I do like to keep active 😆 not much TV true :D: but glad you like them.

    Thanks Bel.
Bandicoot Valley, I hope I sell them too, now is the scary part as to if people will buy them :D:
They range in price from $20 for the small square ones $30 for the six pointed small, $50 for the medium star, $55 for the wide top…[Read more]

I am also doing some remembrance candles. Some here will remember that my little dog Sparky got taken with a snake a few months ago and also that my Dad died last year.

    Hope you like them.
