By ‘popping up’ I mean the previous owners planted heaps & heaps of stuff and I’m still getting surprises four years later. My flowers are pink.

Yes I have thought of them Robyne, but we don’t have any accommodation for them. That’s why I was looking for someone fairly local.

the people you’re buying them from should be able to get her into the trailer for you. We always have ours delivered by a local livestock truckie (mate’s rates). Being from a dairy I would have thought she’d be quite tame and come to you easily.
I don’t the tech of Weaner hay but it looks more like straw than lucerne hay – and they like it 🙂

Hi, we’ve been getting our calves from a local dairy, though they are steers for meat – Fresian and Fresian x Ayrshire). We keep them in the round yard for a week before letting them out into the field. They eat the grass in the yard, we give them weaner and lucerne hay every day (a couple of ‘biscuits’) a dish of molasses with sulphur mixed in…[Read more]

Woohoo – sounds fantastic to me.
Talking to a lady at work the other day and she said she spends nearly $400 a week on groceries for 2 of them. I was flabbergasted. I said mine is about $100 a month, but then I do have a freezer full of beef, pork and chicken, some veggies & fruit from the garden, eggs from the chooks so I only have to buy milk,…[Read more]

Check out your local markets. I bought one at the market on Mother’s Day. Still in the pot – think it might be too cold to plant it now – we had our first frost last night/this morning -2 deg.

I know of a doctor in Sydney who used Reliv products when he was diagnosed with cancer and when he went in for his operation to remove the cancer, they did an ultra-sound and couldn’t find it. PM me if you’d like to know more.

Yes, definitely a cold room in Oz, UK is completely different from here – or you could stuff it all the fridge if you have room 🙂
Our mobile butcher only hangs it for 3 days, though others we’ve spoken to say a week is better. We had a steer and a pig done last time and they only stayed in there 3 days.
After we’ve packed it all into freezer…[Read more]

We bought an ex-flower farm and they used citric acid in the buckets to keep the flowers lasting longer. They were proteas and wax flowers so don’t know if it only works on woody-type plants.
Re the toilet: our ’tish-cart’ man said to use bicarb to clean the loo coz it doesn’t mess up the good bacteria in the septic tank. Don’t know if citric…[Read more]

Not quite the same – it’s ‘ethylene’ CH2 and acetylene is H2C2. Just getting a bit technical here 😉
