Just finished reading your fantastic thread and was going to ask the same thing Metu did, on why you moved to the new location. Its good to know to help in our decisions on where to buy our land eventually in Tas. DH and I have lots to think about.
I love all that you have done (especially in such a short time) and look forward to reading more…[Read more]

Hi! I’m only new here too,but welcome.
I know exactly what you mean when people don’t understand what you are doing. When I tell them what I want to do re setting myself up self sufficiently etc. they shake their heads and say “why would you wan’t to do all that, it’s a lot of work?” Mind you, these same people are working…[Read more]

Well, back from our short visit to NE Ta. We did nearly 800ks in 2 and a bit days!!!(and DHs work paid for all of it!) We had blue skies and sunshine every day! Couldn’t believe it! I took lots of pics to prove it to the poor souls in Melb where its been wet, dismal and grey everyday. Just didn’t tell them it got to minus 2 or more at night!…[Read more]

And such nice pics too!
I’m sooo envious – can’t wait to get some land and get going! In the meantime, I just have to be happy with my plants in pots…sigh

  • So sorry threedogs must have been a terrible time for you! 🙁
Can you name the other clinic in Qld your FIL wentso to so we and others can learn from his experience?
If not, can you maybe tell us a little about the types of alternative treatments he received – so we also can make up our own minds and not make the same mistakes?

  • Years ago I tried making my own shampoos and they were yuk! Now I only shampoo my hair occasionally. Most days I just use 1 Tbls bi-carb mixed with 1 cup warm water, pour over hair, massage then rinse out. Then for conditioner mix 1 Tbls organic apple cider vinegar with 1 cup warm water, also massage in a little then rinse out. The first couple of…[Read more]

  • I’m so sorry threedogs my sympathy goes out to you  – seeing anyone die of cancer is extremely heartbreaking. 🙁
Thank you for your thoughts and I really do appreciate your concern. My friend coincidently has worked all her life as a scientist – hence her hesitation re taking the apricot kernels and I respect her decision. She was told if…[Read more]

    Hi TassieSal! Welcome!
I’m only a newbie too. My DH and I hope to move to Tassie in the next year. We will look you up then, if not before, especially if we visit that end of Tas. We are actually coming to Tas this weekend but because of time constraints are only going to be travelling around the top north east part.

Thanks for all your warm welcomes,
DH has to travel at times for work and has just got the chance to do a job in Launceston. So both of us are grabbing the chance to go there but can only afford to fit in a weekend.(money and time wise!) Last time we were in Tas we drove right around, but ran out of time and missed out on the north east…[Read more]

  • Thanks guys! 🙂 Ive been busy shopping and cooking for my friend. She is trying to stay on a good alkaline based diet, but is finding it difficult as lots of well meaning visitors keep bringing her unhealthy foods ie cakes, biscuits breads etc. that are soo tempting to her. She says she is still taking the bi-carb, she has decided against chemo…[Read more]

  • Thank for all your help. Been doing lots of research. Friend is trying bi-carb and concentrating on having a more alkaline diet. Also looking at apricot kernels.
But hows this: She had her visit with oncologist the other day and he of course advised her on chemo. He gave her 2 types of treatments to choose from. One type he recommended as the…[Read more]
