My Mum too has dementia, she has good days and bad. A few months ago she was also diagnosed with anal cancer which she is having an operation to remove it next week, she is to have a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. I have been taking her to the hospital for her appointments, so sad she asks why we are there and forgets about her cancer.…[Read more]

Mudhen, the recipe I used was:-
2 1/3 cups of white sourdough starter
3 1/3 cups of bakers flour (I replaced one of these with rye flour)
1-1 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons chia seeds

I made a loaf yesterday, really happy with the results, kneaded the dough in the morning, left it to prove for around seven hours and then baked it starting with a very hot oven and spraying the top with water. I added about three quarters of a cup of rye flour to the bakers flour and chia seeds, the bread is light and tastes great.

Personally I feel that people are just burying their heads in the sand and don’t want to face up the inevitable. Batten down the hatches, get prepared, the media and governments just want us to believe everything is plodding along as normal so as to not slow things down further!

I am using the Neoflam pans/frying pans, they are very good, much better than other brands I have used over the years. You cook on a much lower heat with them.

Metu,
You always seem to get it right when you add to a thread, giving both sides of the coin. Great advice there, we live on one acre, love it but it can be time consuming but then again we are a couple and both love getting out in the yard, commencing new projects and getting our hands dirty. I have two grown ups (in their 20’s) kids, we moved…[Read more] -

I despair for our species and planet too. When will we wake up and look what we are doing to our world. The adds on the TV selling this industry are laughable.

Thank you HT. I was aware that it has been discussed before. I was asking to see if anyone had recently bought one and there may have been any new information.
Though as expected it seems that one has to be in the click on this website to attract any responses unless it is for something completely unrelated to what the site was originally set…[Read more]
