  • Hey Gianna:
I tried the Sorbolene to shave with; didn’t work, still needed a razor! 😆

If you were interested I’d gladly supply more information.

  • You’ve got more patience than me that’s for sure. I give two chances to turn up and only two. If they don’t turn up the second time I get somebody else to do the job.

I don’t bother telling the first people, I just wait for them to eventually show up and tell them the jobs done or I’ve arranged for somebody else because they failed to turn up ;…[Read more]

I tend to agree with the consumption of overly processed food with additives causing intolerances to a degree.. but we ALL still have a choice of what we put in our mouths.

Do we humbug? How many people would have the faintest idea what is written on those barley legible labels on food containers.

True, we can say we not going to…[Read more]

  • Well I can finally get around to saying thank you for all the great advice.
It’s been a hectic three day of market for DW and I. Didn’t sell much but as usual had a heap of fun.
Thanks to all who offered encouragement and ideas; those ideas all worth thinking about.

  • You’re going to need to maintain a cabbage patch aren’t you? At least until baby arrives.
The things that need to be done will be done, those that do not, will not. Life evolves so when something comes into our life something else may leave.
Priorities change, for a little while the veggie patch may not be so important but as the baby becomes a t…[Read more]

  • I can’t help but wonder if the increase in food allergies and intolerances is directly related to the increase in food processing and additives we are forced to eat if we choose ( or are forced ) to buy from “controlled” supermarkets.

I don’t know what I’d put on the labels of my eggs and home grown fruit and veggies other than contains no added…[Read more]

  • Made a batch of pickled eggs once, I thought they weren’t half bad.
If you were to give a bottle as a gift it’ll be the gift that’s keeps on giving…..all night long!!!!

I think you so correct mauzi. The world is so scared of the what if’s; why don’t we just stay home and have everything home delivered because what if we have an accident on…[Read more]

  • I have a system that I’ve been using for many years and it seems to work most of the time.
When the dish washers full = the dishes need doing.

When there’s dirt on the floor = the floor needs sweeping.

When the grass is long = the grass needs mowing.

So on and so on………………. 🙂

  • I use Bass Strait, seems to work.

Fox proofing a whole property on the mainland is going to be an expensive exercise. You’ll need to be sure what your protecting is worth the expense. Is there a chance you could build a smaller enclosure to house the stock at night. What about a using a dog to keep the foxes away.

I’ve never eaten duck, must try it one day.
I have thought about getting a few for eggs and meat but never got around to it because they’re dam messy creatures.

  • owlbruder and others;
I have two computers running side by side, one is my “good” computer and the other is more of a backup and for general use. I reformatted the second unit yesterday and installed the operating system ubuntu and it’s working just fine. It seems to have access to a heap of free software, certainly all I need and is quite eas…[Read more]

    Sue E, GGang, Gremmbles;

I agree what you are saying. My cholesterol is elevated but not high.
The Doctor told me diet is only part of the equation as genetics play a big part in determining cholesterol levels, for this reason I have not be advised to medicate; my prescribe option was to reduce by diet.
I have no intentions of cutting out all…[Read more]

    Marz and Bushy,

I can understand your skepticism on self diagnosis, I’m sure many people in our community develop weird and wonderful conditions after reading symptoms in a magazine.

I have enjoyed a relatively healthy life except for a few hiccups along the way and still do for the most part. My self diagnosis came after a couple of years of f…[Read more]

  • How do you load/use Linux?
Is it a replacement to windows and if so how do you get rid of windows; reformat the system? What about virus protection?
I use Microsoft Defender, firefox and Windows Live Mail.
Will software I have now work on Linux?

Tassie Tiger; I took a pinch of your advice and cut a leek off just above ground level when last we required one for diner. Within a week I have two shoots coming away from the wound.

  • You could try a water pistol, they really hate it.

If he/she comes close looking as though he/she is about to peck let go with a squirt or two of water, if that don’t work at least its great fun.

Okay now I can’t reply to a message, I can send and receive but not reply to it.

  • Sounds more like a rooster than a hen. A you sure it’s a hen?
If it’s attacking you it may well attack other hens or chicks. I’d be culling that one ASAP.
