thanks for the link. I do enjoy me some podcasts and always on the lookout for more sustainable / gardening ones.
There is also Sustainable world radio which is quite good. And I was enjoying Gavin’s from the Greening of Gavin – but he hasn’t done one for a while.Any other podcast fiends out there with good suggestions?

all responses are great – both from ‘old -timers’ and those starting out. It is good to get a range of views and experiences.
Now i really must go and close it down and finalise the writing! -

great site and idea, thanks! I have been searching for local growers in our area for a while.
And a collaboration sounds great – perhaps even just put the site on the top banner for a while (thats if you’ve found your extra mods yet!) -

Great news Penny.
ok lets go for March – I’m assuming a weekend is best for everyone.
Do people want to come my way (wellard) or meet somewhere more central, or at someone else’s place? -

Thats a great idea Penny – something to add in to a GTG if (like me) you don’t have a fabbo veggie patch to show off! We could try passata for the perth GTG (if anyone else signs up!)

well, if a march meet up happens, we’ll just have to be sure to do a winter one as well so you don’t miss out Penny!
So any more takers in a perth GTG in March?

HI redgreen and welcome!
I’ve recently read somewhere – maybe over at down to earth down to earth, that people making their own laundry powder often just used borax for soaking nappies. I remember I used to muy an eco-friendly soaker (which now come to think of it, was probably just mostly borax anyway!)
good luck

Just thought I would bump this (last time, promise!) as tomorrow I am going to close the survey (for now at least).
Have almost doubled the responses since Dan put the message up, which is great! I’m now up to 160 responses altogether, which feels pretty respectable, but of course the more the better!
I’ll let people know here when I’ve put some…[Read more]

welcome DT (you had me worried for a bit there HT!)
the methane idea sounds interesting – if you can’t find it online, I’ve got one of the first Earth Garden books here which has a whole section on methane digesters – you could have a look at the perth GTG! -

Shhhhhh! We don’t want to know! 😉
I feel like we are getting on a bit to deal with the stress of building a house. Although, having lived int he camper trailer for 4 months, I think i could manage living somewhere pretty small and temporary like a caravan or shed while we waited … must do more reading! -
replied to the topic Tasmania? in the forum General chat and catching up 9 years ago
Yes exactly, at those prices you’ve got to be prepared to do a lot yourself. Can I borrow your DH? I would love to do some building but my DH not keen 😉
The other place we had a good look was mid-Victoria – some lovely places there too, but not quite what we were looking for – especially price wise -
replied to the topic Perth GTG Feb/March? in the forum Western Australia 9 years ago
ouch! Thats a shame. could you make early March, or is that a bit of a squeeze?
-
replied to the topic Tasmania? in the forum General chat and catching up 9 years ago
Hey MH – but if you’re mortgage free, does DH need an office? :cheer: This is what we are aiming for /dreaming of – as close to mortgage free as possible so we can take on very different kinds of work – whatever is available locally
and Kerrip – your dream property sounds just like mine! except I’m not bothered about being near a beach. Mauzi…[Read more]

As said, I’m happy to go elsewhere if that suits more people. If it is here we are close to freeway and of course the railway station as well (wellard station is 25 mins from perth)
