    I’m very interested G-gang…

We are renting on 4acres. I’d need to check with landlord…

We’re here for as long as it takes for our houses to sell… then onto some land further south.

Keep me in mind when the time comes please?

I think she’s just saying the cacao butter gives a different texture Bobbles.

Both coconut oil/butter and cacao butter are awesome… but I’m with Forest Raven… I prefer the texture of the raw choc made with cacao butter.

    Jude Blereau is amazing.

As is her Sydney based friend Holly Davis.

I’m very lucky to have had the pleasure to do a number of courses with both women (mainly Jude) over here in Perth.

Her passion and knowledge is unrivalled… she has changed my cooking forever…

Her catch phrase… ‘To heal, nourish and delight’

That’s what food is all about.

If you have the chance, go… you won’t regret it.

I use lard…. mixed with eucalyptus oil or lavender and tea tree (melt lard, add essential oils, (just a smidge), then let set again.

Lard is just as sticky as vaseline, but not petro-chemical based.

Cheaper too… and works a treat.

Bentonite Clay is really good for sandy soils… helps with water retention… From stockfeed places it only costs about $20-$30 for a 30kg bag.

For our awful sandy soils over here in the west I use Josh Byrne’s ‘recipe’….

Bentonite Clay (about 2 – handfuls per m2)

Dynamic Lifter (or Organic 2000) (Compressed chook poo pellets… a couple of handfuls per square metre… )

Sheep Poo (or any other poo… cow… )About a 9L bucket per square metre.

    Compost… just a thin layer all over….

Water it all in with fish emulsion and seaweed solution and mulch with pea straw or lucerne.

Keep it moist, and in a couple of weeks… you’re good to go…

    Works every time.

Yep tyres are nasty… they leach cadmium… among other toxic nasties into the soil… and thus taken up by your food growing plants.

Len’s strawbale idea is a beauty for raised beds.
