Any one have any sources for raw milk in Brisbane area? Around the Redlands preferably, but I’m pretty keen so will travel!

On a separate note. My peas are going strong, but the leaves have started to turn yellow and brittle. Any quick remedies for that??

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!

I am pretty keen to get stuck in on the natives food front, but not looking to do it commercially, more so to benefit my friends and family and generate some interest among the community.

I was just wondering, if anyone on here would be interested in some trades/bartering if you are from the Brisbane/SEQ area? Just to generate some interest for the moment, but I am about to come into ALOT of large freshwater Redclaw crayfish, that I legally cannot release or stock in my little dam. I can vouch for thier tastiness. If anyone would be interested initially, please let me know.

Also, I’m interested in holding a cook-off competition with a twist. Just at a local park or my place. I’m looking for Brisbanes best bacon recipe! Just, once again, looking to generate some interest. I was thinking 4 categories. Breakfast, traditional and gourmet and smoked. Bacon is easy to cure and there are literally thousands of recipes, procudures and proccesses out there. Perhaps a few Kg of redclaw could be a good prize??

I’ve heard of people using reed ponds and willow trees for filtration as far as waste water is concerned. Not sure at all if this is what you are referring to, but it is an interesting read none the less.

Can’t remember where I first heard about this system but it is interesting.

About 30 snow peas and 20 Sugar snaps. Not one made it inside… Also a few dozen cherry tomatoes… Excited to find 6 limes (although very tiny) on my native fingerlime tree!

I don’t know actually! Haven’t tried it yet, pretty excited. Have made normal sausages before and cold smoked them and they are great! Got some butcher bought pork bellies marinating/salting at the moment that I can smoke next week… Pretty excited for it all.

I am in the same boat, just got a mincer off of eBay. Going hunting for Pig and Goat soon and hoping to make Goat burgers and salami from the wild pig shoulder.

    Pretty excited.
