Kerrip i agree with Humbug the best thing is get some books, alot of them have templates which makes it a bit easier.

Ebay usually have mosaic books. I did have a lot of books but sold most of them as i really don’t have to do them anymore.

I have done picture frames, mirrors, vases, pot plants (not plastic) stepping stones, and one 1 will never forget took ages, it was a huge big fibreglass ball that had been a water feature, so i proceeded to cover this thing in tiles, took for ever and within a month it had all fallen off. so 1 lesson don’t tile fibre, or at least take…[Read more]

    Thanks everyone

Gardenlen if the frost won’t hurt them i might leave them alone, they are growing in fairly protected area, they were planted in a pot on top of the compost area, didn’t seem to be doing any good so i stopped watering it and it has taken off, i didn’t realise it had so many pumpkin’s on the vine. 🙂

  • replied to the topic Will Pumpkins ripen in the forum Vegetables 9 years, 2 months ago

Steve i thought i read somewhere that they needed to be picked when the plant starts to die off or when the first frost hits. The plants are not dying off yet though, but i am sure they probably will after these frosts.

  • replied to the topic Will Pumpkins ripen in the forum Vegetables 9 years, 2 months ago

Thanks Steve, these are 1/2 grown and too many to cook up in some way and freeze. 🙁

  • Thanks Dayla, just come back to say i found them, hubby thinks he can build one along similiar lines. 🙂

  • Morning Bobbie, All my beds are raised, last year was really good year, but not this year seems to be the harder you try the worse it gets. 🙁

Have just about pulled everything out now, and with all this rain it would be finished anyway. We have had 170ml sunday night monday and have nearly another 80ml overnight and doesn’t look like stopping,…[Read more]

  • Porgey i did grow in pots first. I have no idea what has gone wrong, the Apple tree only had 2 apples, 3 Nectarines didn’t do anything no fruit what so ever, must admit to feeling very disillusioned at the moment. 🙁

  • Hi Bobbee, was a terrible year for us here as far as veg’s go.

Most of my seeds came from Earth Garden.

Squash i ended up pulling out and going to the nursery to get some more, but they also have been pretty average.

Tomatoes from Earth garden didn’t do any good.
