Thanks guys, it being a weed would make sense, it’s come in from the neighbours and taking over the bottom of the garden!
I googled ‘chickens and singapore daisy’ and a thread on the chook forum (can’t remember which one) came up and someone said that their chooks cleaned up the singapore daisy and they were ok.
we’ll give it a go I suppose. 🙂

If you’re around the Maryborough area on a Thursday the Dragonfruit man at the markets sells cuttings for $5. Get there early to get red ones, otherwise there’ll only be white ones left.

Hi there,
I have low blood pressure, especially when pregnant (i’m currently 22 weeks with #3) and have found that drinking heaps of water (2-3L a day) really helps, along with liquid iron and heaps of Vitamin C, fresh citrus, dark greens etc.
Hope you’re feeling more on top of things soon! -

replied to the topic How do you store your bread in the forum Home Preserving, Food Storage and Stockpiling 10 years, 9 months ago
I keep our homemade bread in a tupperware container on the bench through winter and in the fridge in summer. It gets a bit sweaty through summer out on the bench so something a bit more breathable would be good.
Does anyone know of Australian made bread crocks like Lady B’s link above? I’d love one of them!

thanks guys, it really is our dream home! Building and pest went well so now we just have to wait til our other house settles, but it is unconditional so it shouldn’t be a drama!

Thanks guys!
We went out today for the building and pest inspection and saw the little girl (she is a she) waddling back across the paddock to the dam. Her name is Duck. We met the current owner as she was leaving to go out and she said that they used to have more ducks and the owners of the dam would probably not mind if we got more too, so that…[Read more]

Ok, it’s telling me it’s an invalid file size or name, but it is a jpeg file, and only 75kb. Isn’t the limit 200 or something?

Just a quick update for everyone. We didn’t make an offer on either property, but last Friday (a week ago today) an agent rang and said she had just gotten a new listing and she email me the pics. It was beautiful so we made a time for an inspection on Saturday.
Its a replica QLDer on 2.5 acres, 4 bed, 2 baths, lovely big kitchen with heaps of…[Read more]

well I’ve done all the back reading and I’m stumped. I thought it may have been Bobbee, but read that she gave to someone else. The address said Yarra Junction, I googled and it’s in Victoria. Bobbee’s location says Yarra Valley? hmm, I just don’t know!
Help please!

Sorry I typed the above post without replying to the other posts!
Shangri la, DH is a property valuer, so has access to all sorts of data bases and the like. He thinks the smaller property is great value for money. There are no developments likely any time soon, they’ve just introduced different subdivision rules to protect good farming land, and…[Read more]

yep Jen, I think I may be crazy!
We had decided to put an offer in on the bigger property, but Mum came up to stay last week and we went for a drive out and wander around (it’s vacant). We knew it backed onto the train line (about 400m from the house) and there is a fair bit of bush in between the house and the back boundry. But, while we were…[Read more]

Oh. My. Gosh.
My swap arrived today and it’s amazing!!!! I got thoroughly spoiled, and the boys did too. I received (in no particular order):
– a jar of blood plum jam (DS1’s favourite jam! He was very excited!)
– a beautiful handmade apron in a beautiful green print
– a green/khaki knitted headband, which I love!! I wore it to our music lesson…[Read more] -
