Well it is nearly winter here and the frosts are beginning to bite. How does everyone protect their vulnerable plants? We have just planted 2 more citrus that I throw an old sheet over if a frost is predicted. It is working so far.

The lock down doesn’t effect me much out here as I am usually home anyway.I have panted a lot of herbs in hanging pots where I can manage the watering more efficiently.

How did you get on with the plumbers Geeg? If it is any thing like here getting a tradesman to come out is like finding hens teeth.

We have only has 8mm of rain so far this spring, it isn’t looking good. At least it watered the plants so DH doesn’t have to water

Our soil (and I use that word lightly) is also crap mostly rocks actually. I use sheep manure from under the shearing shed as it is really available from the farmer down the road. One for his youngsters get it out and sells it for $2 a large bag. I don’t know of any mushroom farms around here but I will try and hunt one down just to try it. Maybe I should grow my own mushrooms, now that is a thought. Has any one tried growing theirs?

Bonus Judi B, compost and free mushrooms. I have never used mushroom compost myself as I thought it had the wrong PH for most plants not sure where that idea came from. What do you use it on and is it good for veggies?

Maybe the navigation issues are keeping a lot of the oldies away? It is the strangest forum format that I have come across, I must say.
