Just over a year ago I stumbled across excerpts from Zeitgeist – The Movie on youtube. They were intriguing enough for me to search for more, and I found the movie, free online.
It is very confronting, and I watched it a number of times. I must have been ready for a paradigm shift. It led me to research the events of 9/11, which led to Micheal Ruppert, which led to PO, which led to panic, which evolved into wanting to educate myself, my family and friends for whatever is coming.
Yesterday I discovered Zeitgeist – Addendum. At first it inspired hope, but then my ds doused that with a large dose of scorn. Ok, so it is idealistic, but as dd said, just because it’s idealistic doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. (I think I’ll keep her )
Both the movie and addendum are available free (You can download the movie) and both are approx 2hrs long. (sorry if you’re on dialup)
And you don’t need to have watched the movie first, addendum is still inspiring. You can find both
An excerpt from their Statement:
‘Zeitgeist, The Movie’ and ‘Zeitgeist: Addendum’ were created as Not-for-Profit expressions
to communicate what the author felt were highly important social understandings which
most humans are generally not aware of. The first film focuses on suppressed
historical & modern information about currently dominant social institutions, while
also exploring what could be in store for humanity if the power structures at large continue
their patterns of self-interest, corruption, and consolidation.
The second film, Zeitgeist: Addendum, attempts to locate the root causes
of this pervasive social corruption, while offering a solution. This solution is not
based on politics, morality, laws, or any other “establishment” notions of human affairs,
but rather on a modern, non-superstitious based understanding of what we are
and how we align with nature, to which we are a part. The work advocates
a new social system which is updated to present day knowledge, highly influenced
by the life long work of Jacque Fresco and The Venus Project.
Has anyone seen them? Any thoughts?October 8, 2008 at 1:23 am #372892
Thanks for the post, Learning

I am willing to burn copies of dvd’s for anyone who wants to watch them – i just watched addendum last night and had seen the first one some time ago. They pretty much explain how I view the world and society, and after watching addendum – I came and searched here as I figured there would be a few like minded people at least!
So, if anyone wants a copy, (the creator encourages everyone to share it), please let me know and perhaps if you can just cover the postage I can send you a copy to watch on your computer.
Also – if you search on http://www.mininova.org you can download the torrent file there, then download the whole thing via free software like bit torrent or we use Transmission as we have macs.
Anyone else seen it yet and want to discuss?
My hubby and I, for a long time have talked about what the world could be like if there was no money. The part that really struck a chord with me is where it talks about the fact that there are already the resources, manpower, technology in the world to solve all our problems – ie starving people, homeless people and so on. There is just this huge imbalance and I feel that future generations will look back at us and shake their heads at how we let so many people starve to death every day, how we murdered each other, how we pushed people out of their own homes. Even crime would barely exist if we lived in a resource based society rather than money based, because everyone would have what they need, there would be equality.November 28, 2008 at 12:40 am #372900AnissaMember
Thanks, I’ve watched the first one and didn’t realise that was a follow up movie.
If you like Zeitgeist you should check at these movies.
Money as Debt
Denial stops here – Micheal Ruppert.
I couldn’t sleep after watching Denial stops here, I just felt like I needed to be doing something, anything to address the problems and more importantly prepare!! Some of the predictions MR made are unfolding now, ie Demand destruction to cover up Peak oil for a bit longer. He hasa blg at this site.November 28, 2008 at 1:03 am #372901RoquenMember
Thanks for those other ones Anissa – am downloading MR one nowNovember 28, 2008 at 1:31 am #372902
Thanks for the links Roquen and Anissa.
Yep, seen both the ‘Z’ vids. I started a dvd compilation thread a couple of months back. Was popular enough too.. so there is the interest in these shows .. and similar themes.
It is rather frightening/disheartening to see the how’s and why’s a lot of the worlds problems have come about, and the things needing to be done to rectify them.

Andre, have you seen “Fool Me Twice”? It looks at the Australian govt’s involvement in East Timor and Bali. Released very early 2008, I’ve only just become aware of it, and watched it once. Lots to think about; lots of questions.November 28, 2008 at 5:52 am #372904
Not yet, but I will soon!
