    Thanks Steve. I rang about the first lot- will have to see what hubby is doing this weekend and check finances (already buying two bee hives this week).

    Dont like the look of the Egyptian geese- i love the big white/grey ones that honk.

    Well as an update to this post- lesson learned! We ended up getting a group of 5 adult geese. Who HONKED and HONKED and HONKED. Three months later they were still honking all night despite being locked in the enclosed cow shed (foxproof and to cut down on the stimulation) so they were rehomed. I was getting no sleep at all (I usually sleep with one ear opened for any farm animal in distress) and was very, very sleep deprived and cranky.
