The metal bit where the water comes out of the watering can spout has broken off. My neighbour tells me it is usually called a ‘rose’.
I’ve been to bunnings and magnet mart but they all tell me they don’t stock replacements and have tentatively suggested I try specialty garden stores instead.
I’ve visited a few but so far no luck. I also don’t have time to visit every single nursery to see whether or not they might sell the replacement bit.
I’ve done google searches and have been bombarded with lots of online nurseries but so far no luck.
I have a metal 9L watering can. The place where I originally bought it from also told me they don’t stock replacements.
Since the top is screwable I assume there must be replacements that can be sold *somewhere* right??
Does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement? It would save a load of time on my part trawling through the interwebs and visiting every nursery known to man…September 29, 2011 at 6:11 pm #509240
I don’t know if these will match your type of watering can, but i don’t suppose it would hurt to have a look:
Have never used either of these sites before so I can’t vouch for them, but have you tried your local plant nursery as i’ve found they sometimes have those sort of things.
Best of luck.September 29, 2011 at 6:31 pm #509241
Thanks for the linkies. I’ll go check it out!
Yes I have tried all my local nurseries and so far they have come up with nada. 🙁 Like I said, there’s still a boatload of nurseries to try in Canberra, but I really don’t have the time to ring up every one to find out if they have one or not. Was hoping someone could help cut my work load in half and point me in the right direction!
Lazy, I know… 😆September 29, 2011 at 6:51 pm #509242
Have you looked at ebay?September 29, 2011 at 6:53 pm #509243
Hey Lindy Chook,
Yup, have looked on ebay. So far there’s this weird one that’s got plastic on the outside and metal on the inner, and another one that i’m not sure about re the measurements. Both were in the UK. 🙁September 30, 2011 at 12:42 pm #509244
i’m fairly sure i’ve seen them at mitre 10? or maybe it was our produce store. got one of them around you? (if not, that is so sad 🙁 )September 30, 2011 at 10:12 pm #509245
I get stuff from the UK on ebay Ok, might be worth a try?October 1, 2011 at 2:50 am #509246
Def. don’t have a mitre 10. Only magnet mart and bunnings – both of which looked at me blankly when I asked. *sigh*
We have a few produce stores for the farmer types around these parts. One of them I know don’t stock them, but I haven’t checked the other 2. Will give them a ring on Tuesday to see.
Lindy Chook – I’ll go and measure up my watering can to see if it matches up with the measurements for the uk ebay ones. *sigh*
Thanks for all your suggestions!October 10, 2011 at 5:35 pm #509247
