Our whole street gets there lights weekend closest 1 dec and then down weekend after xmas
ours is the first weekend of dec, when joesph puts all the decos on the tree this year rhianna and felicity will be helping
it all comes down 7th january, but the last 3 years have done nothing
Ours don’t go up until after school finishes for the year. Any earlier and it feels like a-a-a-a-ages away for my two.
Plus, our decorations are usually ones they made at school – we wait for the new season’s stock before we start hanging it all up 😉
1st of December they go up. 31st of December they come down so I can spring clean for the New Year too. All the neighbours are different but this has always been our trdition. Each to their own I guess huh! When I was ill I felt very bah humbug about it all so the kids took over.
First week end in December and down sometime before New year usually. My DH loves watching the kids decorate the tree (just an old plastic one we have had forever) I just do the bits they find hard. We tend to have a rather lopsided odd assortment of decorations including the kids ones definately no color coordination here.
One week before Christmas for me, and it comes down fairly soon afterwards. I love Christmas and decorating, but if I decorate too early it loses some of that special feeling for me.
Ours is usually the 1st Dec and comes down New Year’s Eve. Now we’ve got the solar panels I’ll feel a little less guilty about the blinkin’ lights too:lol:
In the 20 years since I left home I haven’t had a tree or put up decorations once!!!!!
The tree was always a given in childhood the decorations less so and only around and on the tree itself. My Dad does just the tree and my mother does neither!!!!
The Niece is happy to have no decorations or tree since it is highly likely she will be away for Christmas. I won’t have Christmas on my own though, the families at church have a habit of adopting strays on the day for food and company.
