Well it has been awhile and these days I’m working at a flour mill and often bring home 30kg sacks of wheat which has been good stock feed for when we had the 2 boar pig’s (Bubble’s and Mikey). Well Mikey fattened up nicely and after our first DIY kill he came out at 28kg’s a side and my butcher mate said the hide looked great too.
Anyway I’ve got 2 sacks of great quality wheat probably about 45kg’s worth so the chooks aint going to get it all this time as after some research first i’m going to do a wheat homebrew then get the reflux still finished and have a go at some rocket fuel…. Now all the recipies i’ve read call for ‘flaked wheat’ and I suggested today to the head miller say if I steamed the wheat first then fed them thru a twin roller setup I’ll make that should make flaked wheat right. He did say that would be the best way to go then asked why I was doing it…… As soon as the beer word came up it was I WANT A TASTE and the recipe too.
So my 5 cyl radial engine project can take a back step this weekend as the wheat roller project will begin and hopefully soon the first wheat beer will be bubbling away.
