What do the signposts with the letter V mean?
Just the ordinary white road side wooden post, in a residential street.
Is it a water pipe perhaps??
Oh and I’ve done a google search and all I get is :
“V is for Vendetta” and
the V sign is a finger sign of peace!
Dont know maybee a very nice street
A pic would be good, as I have no idea what you mean :S

🙂 I’m sure I’d get funny looks if I was seen taking photos of signposts.
You know there are usually white wooden posts on footpaths and sometimes they might have a reflector on it and sometimes a letter. I know some indicate water, phone or gas lines but the V one has me thinking.
Hmmm, maybe the V is for Valve as in water or sewerage valve??
I know the ones you mean you are not as mad as you think.
Dunno what they are for though…sorry.
Valve on the water main probably…….
Hubby thinks Valve also.
Perhaps our version of a fire hydrant?
A fire hydrant has a ‘H’ sign. At least here it does. ‘V’ is for valve which is different. I have also seen ‘AV’ which might be air valve – not sure on that one….
