Strange weather here. Sorry to hear about the car bill Snags :anguished:
I survived but worked out I have now paid more to fix my air-conditioner than I have on petrol over the 6 years of owning this car.
Hhmm best not to think about it. Evil necessity cars. Sigh
I did the sums the car cost me $10 a day, $3,650,00 a year, over 6 years total…..Its just frustrating to get a bill when the guy doenst give you an option just goes out buys the part and expects you to have $2 grand a few days later…..Obviously driving in the Qld sun in summer is not very pleasant,I drove 3 hours round trip when it died…… its now cost me $1 a day over 6 years not to have to do it………………….In the end when the actual cost of having a car is mainly insurance, registration and maintenance and a very small portion is petrol ( 80 cents a day for me) its not worth changing over to an electric car to save money……
good morning everyone, we are back on air again.
I spent my time waiting for the rain it felt like waiting for Godot
I’m just waiting for the summer to be over.
Woohoo! We’re back on. I’ve been busily planting, passion fruit and kiwi fruits, mini bay tree and a weeping syzygium.
me too ballamara, can’t wait for winter
lost 2 figs, a mulberry, and some grape vines
I have lost 7 scarlet oaks ( I should have known better to plant them probably )and the fig looks a little the worst for wear.
Figs are tough,I gave my nearly dead one a weekly bucket of water and its looking the best ever
I don’t really want too much just a bit more rain and a warmer Winter.
I’ve lost a few trees because of the heat and lack of water I struggled to keep the water up to a persimmon I planted in January but it looks OK.
Just had a flock of Black Cockatoos land in the gums at the front must be a couple of dozen
Is that a rare sight Judi B? we never see black cockies down here. On the other hand white ones are a pest.
We got a drizzle last night, its so exciting I still had to water though
We see the Black Cockatoos quite often but only half a dozen at a time…… the White ones I’m starting to hate them, neighbour is feeding them and we get woken at the crack of dawn and during the day they sit in our trees and chew off small branches.
In the past few days we’ve had nearly 20mm but the grass is drying out and getting crunchy again.
