Thanks sewing lady…April 22, 2009 at 11:46 pm #395251
Im going to take all my surplus stuff to charity, go and get a passport pic taken, finish the application for passport and send it off, mow the lawns (if the weather holds off a bit) tend to my new vege patch in the making, and clip the grass in the bottom of the aviary (millet). Entertain a 7 year old with boxes, and maybe take him for a surprise? as he’s really been no where this hols. (maybe we’ll do lunch by the ocean today?) usual housework, and then get ready and go to work tonight 🙂 Short shift tonight (I hope) – and then finally bed. Oh and somewhere in between all that, get dinner ready! 🙂
Hope you’re feeling much better soon Chezza. Heaps of rest and water, and chicken broth! Make you all snuggly and warm and well! :hug:April 23, 2009 at 1:31 am #395252

I too have had a slow and relatively uneventful day. Finished digging out the second part of the vege plot, and then the draftsman arrived to discuss the plans, which have not modified much since our last discussion. Things became a little tense when I suggested more windows along the back wall (it faces nne) but we finally agreed I was right (lol), and so it will be. He is pulling together an idea of the things that will be needed to discuss the application more fully with council and to apply for the certificate of likely compliance, so trundling along. After he left I had a little nap, then wandered vacantly for a bit then drove into town for a takeaway dinner (seafood box, yum) and now am contemplating an early night due to having been up since 4 this morning. It is getting rapidly chillier here – working its way up to the big freeze forecast for early next week … brrrrApril 23, 2009 at 8:42 am #395258

Poor RBT.. Hope that was your last trip to the accountant!!
My day sounds like your day sewing lady!! Groceries and the bathrooms (at the very least) is what I’ve set myself…
Handwork in the evenings is very sleepy stuff…. 😆
I’ve finished my DNs 21st binding….. It is a QS quilt and it takes between 2-2 1/2 hours per side….. Would you believe I have a pain in my left elbow that woke me up?? I get pain if I paint but wouldn’t of thought sewing binding would be bad for your health!!! 😆April 23, 2009 at 9:22 pm #395264
Once a fortnight I am home on the Friday. Bliss. Have Rosie, my small dog cuddled up on my lap – she feels the cold as she has a smooth coat, but she isn’t keen on wearing her coat. If I drape a sarong over my shoulder and tie it at the neck, she tucks in like a joey and sits happily with her head snuggled under my typing arms. Funny, lovely creature that she is.
In front of me, the north facing windows are large – it’s an enclosed verandah. I watch the bird bath in front of me – it’s about 4 metres away. No birds here yet. Soon, there will be little nectar-supping types, crested pigeons, and ofcourse those opportunists, sparrows.
The illawarra flame tree that Rosie pruned 18 months ago had an emaciated stem and no leaves for months, but now the rain has come again, it’s grown into a 6 foot sapling. It pushes up towards the sky so that when I look at the bird bath, it’s through the dancing leaves. The flame tree is between me and the birdbath; a small lilly pilly is lush and green on the western side of that.
Now and then some passers-by come into view. That’s omething I like too, about the town cottage – never feel lonely as there’s always someone going by or neighbours about. Never intrusive, just a presence that ensures I feel part of this place.
What a lovely way to spend the morning.:)
