Was a new one on me till yesterday too 😆February 6, 2010 at 6:19 am #440062kerriebMember
:hug::hug: I hope they get to the bottom of your DHs problem. I hate it when someone is unwell and you don’t know why. I completely understand your frustration my DH refuses to tell me he’s sick most the time unless he can’t get out of bed. It is really frightening to wake up to a thud in the night when he has fainted and I didn’t even know he was sick.
A bit of a lazy day here. I’ve been painting the second of two big wooden boxes rescued from my SIL when she was moving house. My DH grabbed 2 TRAILERLOADS of stuff from her 😮 :p now I need to do some serious decluttering. The boxes are going outside to store stuff one for all the kids bats, balls etc out the back. And the other for BBQ stuff and old cushions that get used outside out the front so I don’t have to cart them up and down stairs when I want to use them.
DH has been modifying an external door to try and stop the rain coming under it and wetting the carpet all the time looks Ok but now we just need to wait for that elusive beast rain to appear again:D. We only got 9mm the other day.
A bit of pruning cutting back the saltbush so I could get down the side of the house. The chooks love it. A bit of weeding, need to do more.
Finally got around to ordering Brassica seeds so I can get them in for winter. Always seems a bit weird planting winter seeds in the heat of summer. I’m apparently going to grow golden beetroot as DS4 was beside me while I was ordering he LOVES beetroot and decided orange ones would be nice.
Not as funny as one day we were in the supermarket and he pointed out a packet of butter beans and asked for them. We got them the funny bit was when we got home and he wanted to plant his “chippy’ seeds:D. I had to remind him that we make them from spuds.
Now everyone is relaxed and happy I’m going to grab a wine pick some salad and throw some steak on the BBQ.
:hug::hug: for anyone that needs them.

Feel like i am locked up in the house with all this heat and humidity as it’s been just unbearable the last few days:rip: I try to do the outside work in the early morning or late afternoon but the mozzies have me running for cover they are even biting through clothing…………couldn’t even out run them on the mower today. It’s about this time every year i want to move to Tassie………………..perminantly:DFebruary 6, 2010 at 1:38 pm #440064Shangri LaMember
LOL RTB, this is my Tassie dreaming time of year too…then in July I want to be up your way! I think the worst thing about ongoing humidity is that I just don’t feel like cooking anything.
The humidity is disgusting but we aren’t getting rain either, it keeps missing Caloundra altogether so i can’t plant seedlings and it is such a struggle keeping seedlings alive once they’ve germinated as it has was very windy for a few days.
I want to plant out some Rosellas that germinated from your seeds but I’m waiting for rain. At least my zucchinis have come up and hopefully won’t have a problem with leaf mould here. I made the mistake of planting out a Tamarillo that I grew from seed about a month ago but it gave up the ghost with all the wind and no water SO i dare not plant the Sapote as it will probably go the same way and I don’t have any more seeds.February 6, 2010 at 11:13 pm #440065Eira ClaptonParticipant
Things are suspiciously damp outside -perhaps the 0.2mm in the rain gauge at the Weather Bureau is indicative of the first rain we have had for over three months. Hottest January ever, longest dry spell ever.
Enjoyed Bran Nue Dae yesterday.
Going to a gardening workshop today at Lockridge then home to tackle that sewing -got none done yesterday due to visitors turning up who wanted to talk !:DFebruary 6, 2010 at 11:23 pm #440066

Looking forward to a busy day. I picked up some jam strawberrys last night to make a bit of jam and I have the last of my tomatoes to make a little sauce. And of course housework and washing.
I’m feeling so, so relieved my DD had her cerebral angiogram last week and we got the results on Wednesday. She is so lucky it turns out that she has a venous angionoma which is harmless rather than the cerebral AVM they originally thought it was. Thankyou everyone for your kind wishes about this earlier this year. You have no idea what a weight that is off my mind.March 5, 2010 at 12:52 am #440072
