I am now settling down to a G & T -they use lemons too!
Not much happened here -made some banana chip cookies, did a bit of a house clean.
DH came back from QLD with a cold and a sore throat. DS has tonsilitis and I have managed to convince him that he needs to have a quiet weekend and let the antibiotics do their work.
I had a lousy week at work -so trying to start a ‘happiness project’ and cheer myself up.August 29, 2009 at 9:59 am #428761JadeMember
Sorry to hear about your week Earthmotherwithin, I hope the boys get better soon.August 29, 2009 at 10:38 am #428762
My view to the north – this is normally dry land …August 29, 2009 at 9:36 pm #428763musterMember
Doc, could you include a lesson on putting the toilet seat down – the men might not be aware that these new fangled toilet seats can actually be separated from the lid – tricky, but with a bit of practice it’s manageable.
Yesterday I called in at the craft shop on Mt Tamborine – nice to know I can get my tapestry supplies from a place nearby.
Canungra’s turn for the market yesterday so went there but sadly it seems to be on the wane again with fewer stall-holders. In any case I did get a couple of geraniums for $3 each and put them in big pots for a display of colour in the heat,
Chooks are laying production line quantities of eggs and lemon tree is groaning so I’ll have a go at that lemon merangue pie from Better Homes and Garden.
Poor Wallabies – I didn’t watch right until the end but clearly SA was giving up a whopping.
Hoping for rain – I have one bore running into our water supply tank as it is only a quarter full. The other bore is working on the paddocks. The electricity metre will be in high gear.August 30, 2009 at 12:07 am #428764sue eMember

We have had wonderful rain. 10mm. So today I can get into the garden and pull up some weeds. Have grouted the new tiles in the back lobby and sugarsoaped the walls in our bedroom ready for a new coat of paint. :metal:Hopefully we can keep up the momentum and tile all the way through the lounge area.August 30, 2009 at 3:01 am #428767
Have finally managed to upload that image from my earlier post (dang server is driving me wild!!). Painted the door again, and the frame so once that dries, and I have the other side painted, I will finally have a door into the hall. Apart from the fact this will cause a major disruption to my electrical arrangements which currently run straight down the hall and out the back door (which has convenient holes for such purposes), it will be a vast improvement to be able to shut out the cold weather and the dust I am about to start creating in the front end of the house.
Decided to dig out more of the soil alongside the house but it is sodden and heavy, so then decided to relocate one of my drowning apple trees into the hole I dug for the nectarine. But since the hole is currently holding around 200mm of water (in a 600mm deep hole) concluded I would be doing little to improve the situation.
Chookies having a wonderful time in the sunshine – it is nice to see their feathers properly arranged and dry. Will remove their damp bedding and fill it up with some nice soft dry chainsaw waste so they have a warm bed tonight.August 30, 2009 at 5:26 am #428768JanineMember
Well it is a day spent on the couch for me, my son is sick and has a chest infection, it is so rare for him to be ill it always comes as a suprise, he probably has two days off school a year, he just has that kind of immune system. A day of videos and lots of love. :hug:August 30, 2009 at 6:01 am #428769musterMember
Better Homes and Gardens had this on last night – I have a glut of eggs and lemons – so too easy.
Horribly dry today and we have the air con on already.August 30, 2009 at 6:16 am #428770Judi BKeymaster

Muster, wanna pop some in the mail for me? 😀 Lemon meringue pie is my absolute favourite in the world!
Today I have been earning myself a good nights sleep! Had a fairly relaxing morning then lunch out with MIL2b and SFIL2b then back here to get stuck into the garage. We cleaned it out, repacked some older boxes, packed up more, loaded some stuff into the cars and threw out a tonne of rubbish. I need a nana nap now!
And tomorrow is the last of the packing, defrosting and cleaning the fridge and freezers and loading up the cars so we can head off Tuesday AM :metal:August 30, 2009 at 6:49 am #428774
Hate to do this to you, but i suggest that, unless you can use the fridge and freezers almost immediately you arrive you would be better off defrosting today to give them a chance to dry out right through. Otherwise you will have mildew problems. Also, stick a roll of toilet paper inside each compartment …. Worked for me when mine was shipped for three months.
