I am going to make it my fault again.
Anyone want to GTG in Canberra in late November.
I’m travelling there for a conference from 25 – 29 November. I have a dinner for the conference on 26 November, so won’t be free that evening.
But would love to catch up if anyone’s keen. 😀
Hmmm, tempting, but a bit far to drive. 🙁
I will be in on it Herbman  :metal:
Awesome!!!! Will be great to meet you 🙂 🙂
I’ll pass …. 😆
I live here. May well be able to meet up with you, Herbman
Me too, would be nice to meet up.
So where will we do this? Any ideas?
Sorry, I’m not terribly familiar with Canberra. I will be staying at the YHA and attending a conference nearby (i.e. city centre).
Don’t know if there are any pubs or cafes or anything like that in town or close by?
I arrive on the afternoon of 25 November and have no commitments that evening and I leave about lunch time on Saturday 29 November. I propose that we GTG on Friday evening if this is suitable?
there’s a shopping mall called the Canberra Centre near Akuna St where the Youth Hostel is. Lots of cafes there.
Herb “I’ve been everywhere” man!! 😆
Lucky you to get to meet our Canberra Alsers….
There are plenty of places to choose from in the city where you are staying. The hard part will be choosing! Do you have any preferences on type of food? You can pretty much take your pick – Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Italian, there is a Steak and crab house, Indian, Japanese, French etc etc. I must admit I don’t usually eat in the city though so can’t recommend any one in particular.
If you are free on the Sat morning, I can I recommend a trip out to the Farmers Markets to take a look around. You are sure to enjoy it and it is not too far from the city.
G’day Herbman, I might venture out. My community garden plot is just over the road from the farmers market.
As for pubs-The Wig & Pen brew their own beers-from chilli chocolate stout, to elderberry ale, they’ve got some winners.
How about Regatta Point on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin. Is there still an eating place there?
