    Cover new seedlings with glass jars, creates a mini greenhouse and the bugs and slugs can’t get to them, just don’t forget to water.

    Plant some perennial veges like celery, garlic chives, bunching onions, herbs. There will sometimes be a lull in between seasons and you will always have something fresh to harvest if you are slack like me and spend more time here on als thinking about what I should plant than actually being in the garden sometimes. :laugh:

    Dont throw away out dated seed because they can still be used to grow veg or use as a green manure.

    Just because the packet says it’s out of date really doesnt mean a thing except to get gullible gardeners to buy more next year.

    There are a few exceptions eg parsnips need to be fresh every year
