Yep, the little Blighters found our strawberries.
Birds that is.
Made a mad dash to Bunnings for some netting. whoopie,
it even whas on sale for half price. baaaargin.
got the net installed same day. no more attacks on the
strawberries since.i guess we did get away with it for
happy gardening all
 If its not birds, its slugs, snails, centipedes, millipedes, dogs or damn Sheep, Im feeling your pain Gartenfee :pinch: good one on the netting thou.
it sure is a challenge busylizzie.but we are happy with the little bits we get.
your place remains me of what we used to have. large fields of vegies, as we where
market gardeners for a long time, and a number of years ago.i do appriciate your loss.
keep up the great job
my kids are the worst for berry pinching 😉
that does`nt count Girl Friday,ha ha.
Know how you feel. Around my way the snails are a problem. The thing is they mainly eat the cucumber seedlings SIGH
thanks Penny, but our net seems to work.
have you tried sawdust as snails dont like crawling on it.
I’ve been trying to work out if it’s birds or the dog taking ours. What ever it is usually has a bit of a nibble of a green one but takes the whole thing as soon as they’re ripe. The dog has form for pinching strawberries. Looks like I need some netting too.
grrrrr, found some strawberries pecked this morning.with the net over them and all. we even pegged it away from the bed.
thinking again what to do next.
SilentC, the net does help to a large extend though.
