I’m sorry Len & Bev.August 5, 2012 at 10:36 am #519530
thanks robyn & thisildo,
yep didn’t realise until when i was out an about i had no companion walking with me, she did that never ran ahead always at my pace.
no one to throw a fetch toy for now. no one looking up at us from her kennel near the front door first up in the morning, bev would give her a good night pat and kind word.
we will move on, think it affected our daughter the most in brissy, it was her dog first up, we pray she can move on too.
many thanks to one and all life is short hey, we don’t need the issues coming our way.
where we buried zarah is going to be the citrus orchid, so it will have a plaque saying zarah’s orchid.

oh Len i am so sorry for your loss – we recently had a similar loss. After some yrs we decided again to try to have another dog – Our daughter actually -even though she does not live at home – we had tick collars on them but on a Sunday mroning Pumba could not stand when i went to let them out of their night time cages (to keep them safe from the pythons). SO a rushed call to the vet to get aloow him the 30 ins drive we had to get himself to clinic.
Pumba died 2 days later – he is buried with others under the soursop tree.
His bill was $380 – after hrs fee, 2 nights in hosp included. those vets seems exorbitantly expensive. The most we ever paid was $480 for 3 nights in the hosp for a very large dog and at another practice (who treated us really coldly afterwrds so i did not return)
Usually if e catch the dog soon enough it is around $200to$250 if we take them home again or maybe they stay 1 night.
I do not trust those drops and use only 1 brand of tick collar as the old vet who owned the practice previously advised me too. He recommended not using them when DS was little and hugged and touched them alot. Now he is older he has to wash his hands immediately. Even tho this practice has changed hands he is still an empathetic vet with a heart. He let our whole family visit quietly with Pumba on the 2nd day for which we are very grateful.
We here on ALS feel your loss with you   :hug:August 6, 2012 at 4:06 pm #519535
thank you narelleh,
vets are money making machines, no animal care in them, well not like they project on TV sessions.
we feel they dragged this out just to add to the bill. needless to say they get no more business from us, at this time not sure if there is a vet around that has more compassion, but we will find a better one.
miss our girl being there as we work around the place, my throwing arm can get better now.
sorry i made mention of what i thought was 32 cents on the end of the bill it was actually 77 cents, that would send them bankrupt if they didn’t get it hey???
lenAugust 6, 2012 at 5:14 pm #519536
oh yes Len – must make sure have the cents right even – i have on several occasions had calls from places cos i was cents out – once from my bank cos we were 13 cents in arrears!!!! oh my gosh!!!!
take care
