after growing a small patch of sweet potatoes last season i’m Really keen on a huge plot this year.
we tried the white skinned purplish flesh and the purple skin white flesh(best cropper) types.
i’m now thinking about getting my cuttings ready so was wondering if anyone has come across a very purple fleshed variety. i heard purple is jam packed with goodies and my other one with purplish flesh dosn’t seem to crop well down here in the cold.:(
any tips on cold tolerant types would be great too:D
Have never seen a fully purple fleshed one, mine have flecks thru them.
When I lived down south the plain whites were most cold resistant
I’d like to know the same thing.
the sweet potatoes I was growing and covering with straw had the birds scratching it all off and now the frosts have burnt the foliage:p
love my sweet potato
You are right that The birds have scratch the potatoes. I have also grew the potatoes couple of months ago. But I give failure on it due to the rainfall. I wish that I will get grow sweet potatoes as well.
