Steamed chicken breast

We’ve got a crook dog in the house who’s on steamed chicken and rice for two weeks, but I must confess I don’t know how best to steam the chicken breast.
Its a lovely organic one – whether to cut it up first, do I do it in a steamer like I do vegies?
Will cook faster cut up, you could probably do it in a steamer ok. Does he really need breast, sheesh, surely thighs would suffice!
I reckon you could probably poach it instead.. very similar cooking meat wise, add the poach water to the rice.
If steaming I would cut into strips, not cubes. Lay them in the bottom of the steamer, same as veg, but not sure on the time.
Zap ’em in the microwave? (either cubed or whole)
