Has anyone used and/or have a Shuttle Chef? It is one of those thermos slow cooker devices see http://www.thermalcookware.com.au/main.php?mod=Shop&file=Cats for a description.
I am thinking of buying one to use at home in place of/reduce the use of my electic bench top stove and to take on my planned big island camping working holiday.
I would be interested in opinions, comments on their use or the use of something similar/different brand etc.
I’ve never used one myself, but my mum loves her ‘dreampot’ – similar concept. She used it all the time while caravaning around Australia with dad a few years ago, and she still uses it a lot now at home. I think you’d find it a good investment, esp with travelling in mind.
We picked up an Aldi version of the RPC6000W (Large inner pot with a smaller pot to fit on top) and it works a treat.
If you put boiling water in the top pan it will keep a BBQ chook hot for 4 hours easy
Thanks for that feedback. Unfortunately we don’t have Aldi stores down here so may have to hunt around for another clone although I figure that sort of money is a good investment anyway if it cuts down on energy use.
