I had a mandarin in the painted metal fruit basket that kind of rotted and leaked all over the table cloth (yes, I know, it should have been eaten long before it got to that stage, and I should have spotted it earlier, way before the rotted liquid dried  ). Any ideas on getting the stain in the fabric out?
It’s a seersucker type of white cloth, possibly poly/cotton (it’s an op-shop one so no tag). I have washed it in a mix of Aware clothes powder and 2 caps of NapiSan Oxyaction (or it could have been a mix of Napisan and home brand stuff – I put them all into the one 3kg container) but the stain is still there. It’s now a light brown stain.
I think the only way to remove it now (the stain has set) is to bleach it. You could try lemon juice first but you may end up needing to use hydrogen peroxide or diluted bleach. It should come out fine. 🙂 Dampen the stain with lemon juice and sprinkle salt over it and expose to the sun.
…..mmmmmmm….applique a mandarin over the stain………….? 🙂
