I’m up at kurrajong, not far. I’m sure we could get quite a good idea of the diversity of microbes we are making. Despite the fact that they will vary widely between batches.
Colous, Dom’s site is very interesting but I have heard from people that he is quite slow at sending out the Kefir. I can send you grains for the price of postage if you like. Even though I would send the grains in milk, all you would need to do is give them a rinse in cold water and then place them in soy or coconut milk. water Kefir is another option, someone on here sent me some, can’t recall who. I am terrible with water kefir, I seem to kill it or maybe water kefir just does not like the tropics. Anyway I have given up on that one.
I think Dom’s is a small operation, so I won’t be too hard on him. If you’re sure the grains would work in soy milk, please pm me your address?
Just don’t use UHT milk, I used it ones and it killed my kefir grains!
