Plants from pieces
We will talk a little about the biology of plants, followed by a
practical exercise in creating ‘plants from pieces’
Anyone can create more plants, from pieces of the plants’s you have,
or the plants you find!
Feel free to bring ‘cuttings’ of your favorite plants, which ideally
would be cut from the parent plant the morning before the meeting.
A limited amount of propagating material and media will be provided
but please bring some small ‘tubes’ or small pots.
Children participating will need to be supervised by their attending
adult due to sharp cutting tools being involved.
Bring a clean 2ltr milk bottle (or similar) if you don’t have a
greenhouse at home and wish to make a mini green-house.
Bring some sharp secateurs cleaned & sterilized with metholated
Gardening gloves (if desired)
50mm square tubes are ideal but other shapes and sizes will do as
long as they are small.
