We had good luck this year with hatching chicks but one is very small and I was wondering if it is possible to have a midget chook? All the rest were hatched similar size and have grown to a similar size but this one! She is growing well and is quite a settled little chook but just so small! Anyone else had a littl’un?
I don’t know, maybe a genetic throwback to a bantam somewhere in the line? Is that possible?
We had a teeny tiny chick which I would never have expected to survive — I called it NQR
, it is growing into a beautiful little pullet.
We had a little teeny tiny chick — its down was like hair and it was kind of mis-shapen.
We called it NQR and did not expect it to survive.
It is growing into the most pretty little pullet though and is the 1# most requested thing on my chook blog: photos of NQR’s progress so people obviously love her!
She is a cutie ediedoh!
NQR looks just like our AndyBec just black instead of brown. Half of our chooks are bantams but this AndyBec is half their size. She is always getting walked on by the bigger crowd but takes it in her stride! She is a really nice chook!
