My husband went straight to the bank and they are looking into whether they can reimburse us, but because we are with a small credit union I wont hold my breath.January 17, 2011 at 10:00 pm #487540
Here is a gov website to look at if you think your being scammed ect: http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/content/index.phtml/tag/victimstories
Go down the bottom of the page and look here —> More information and tips on how to recognise and avoid scam.

Well good news today.
I was checking my banking and there it was the money I put on tanks as a deposit I got both lots back-we ordered 2 tanks then ordered another 1 so two seperate deposits.
I had been speaking to the senior risk compliance officer of my credit union and he went away and tried every avenue he could to get the money back.
Well all I can say is he has worked a miracle.
Tomorrow I will call and thank him as I only just found it and they are now closed.
So bluezbandit you should be able to get yours back also.
I actually thought I’d seen the last of that money ,even tried the police for a follow-up but he is away for a week, well I dont need to now as I’ve got it back.
Now I have the money to put on my car rego YIPPEE!!!!January 24, 2011 at 9:11 pm #487543

Bluezbandit,I did a police report which got me a police report number,
I then wrote out a stat dec for the credit union, gave them a copy of the invoice with bank reciepts etc actually any paper work even a copy of the newspaper ad.
It was sent to head office and thats where the senior risk and compliance officer came into it,
he didnt think he could get the money back then I mentioned a “charge back” which he seemed to consider as well as everything else he could come up with.
Now because I gave permission for the payment to come off my card they didnt think I would have a chance.
BUT obviously something fell into place because I DID get my refund.
So try some of these avenues with your CU and see how you go.
If/when you make a police report you need to keep in touch with whomever is in charge of the investigation to see whats happening.
Fingers crossed for you bluezbandit.January 25, 2011 at 11:51 am #487545

Well I rang the Senior Risk & compliance Officer this morning to thank him for getting my money back.
He looked it up and the ladies assigned the task asked for and got the charge-back,
So maybe these people havent closed accounts and the money is being returned.???
So bluezbandit there might be some good news for you also, but be quick as the opportunity might close.
