Came across a new TV series that might interest some people on here. It’s about energy and is called E2 Energy. It is a six part series that starts on Sunday night (6th dec) and is on at 6pm on SBS. It will run for 6 nights in a row at 6pm each night, instead of the usual one ep a week.
This is what the SBS website says about the first episode.
Harvesting the Wind – To coincide with the UN Climate Change Conference, SBS brings you this special energy series all this week. Episode one looks at farmers in Minnesota who have united in using locally produced and locally owned wind energy as a cash crop. In the absence of a strong renewable energy policy at the federal level, the state government plays a key role in wind policy, begging the question: Will the rest of the U.S. follow Minnesota’s lead? Narrated by Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman. (From the US in English) (Documentary Series) (Part 1 of 6) G CC WS
Thanks for the heads up, Garden Girl. Have made a note of it.
Thank you for this, I shall put a reminder up for myself.
thanks GG I will get my neighbour to record it for me as I will be away all next week:tup:
thanks for that GG. will definitely be watching . we were just saying this morning that if the government(or the opposition ) were serious about reducing carbon emissions they would discount green energy instead of charging more for it. that way the energy companies could still be in business doing what they do by on selling energy that is produced by individuals and fed back into the grid. not everyone can afford to get their own PV cells but if green electricity were cheaper rather more expensive more people would be using it. would be better to pay people not to pollute rather than compensating them for the tax they incur by polluting. jobs may be lost i9n the coal industry but there would be new green jobs created . why do they make it appear so complicated? and who really runs things anyway?
Thanks, Garden Girl!
can someone remind me on sunday to watch this please ? 😀
Thanks…will try and tune in.
