Does anyone have some suggestions for my problem, I have introduced three pullets to my two older Isa browns and a little bantam. They are ok together all day, then at night the older ones and the bantam will not let the pullets into the chicken coop, therefore they roost on the chicken pen roof. They are safe from predators but it upsets me to see then “left out in the cold” each night.
It will take a while to sort out the peeking order, time…..
Thanks Steve yeah I know re: pecking order but it has been 3 wks now, thought those “girls’ would have sorted it out by now… oh well will just continue to be patient!
You may find that it could take a long time before the pecking order is settled :geek:
It may also be that once the newer girls are a bit more mature that the situation will change.
Until then, there is no way that the old girls are going to let the youngsters sit on the top rung…yet
Regards, Doc 😉
Ok Doc will just not look out the kitchen window each night at dusk.
I suppose age has to have some advantages!
