Morning just trying.
Life is what and where you make it. Like any change in location sussing it out eg. neighbourhood, services and facilities etc etc is part of the homework that needs to be done. Sure you can’t know everything but you need to make some informed judgements.
People coming from the mainland tend to arrive fairly starry eyed only to have the lights somewhat dimmed by the fact that they are now living on an island that does not have all the services readily available that they may have been use to. I am constantly angered by our Tassie politicians who want to make us like all the bigger states by promoting in appropriate development eg. Direct Factory Outlets, mega shopping centres, extractive and chopping down industries that belong to the last century(anyway enough ranting)
I too live in an area where trail bikes can be a problem, where boggun neighbours think they can do anything they like but we are dealing with it.
Can I suggest all you newly arrived mainlanders come to Mauzi’s GTG in January and meet some of the real people who are long term residents of the island and have lifestyle issues in common with you? Not all of us have two heads and half an brain 🙂November 26, 2011 at 3:04 pm #514411BobbeeMember
Hey TassieTiger I’m a Taswegian ‘wot got brung to Vic menny yeers ago’ and I have found lots of use for my two heads.
Any time I find myself in ‘trouble’ I just blame ‘the other head’. I don’t ever forget anything or do anything the wrong way; ‘the other head did it’ is a well known expression in our house.

PS: I don’t know about the ‘half a brain’ bit but if I have 2 heads then I also have 2 brains and everyone knows that 2 brains are better than one! :woohoo:November 26, 2011 at 3:22 pm #514412Tassie TigerMember

Thanks for your input folks. Wow, was that a negative point of view in my earlier posts, just goes to show how outside influences can really affect one’s perception of the world around. That was a ba a a a a a a a ad day for me, with my focus on the negative. I have loved living in Deloraine, and my heart lifts and dances when I look at the beauty which is right “in your face”…. those glorious mountains, the clean air…..etc, etc. Of course there are problems anywhere you live but my main problem is a failed relationship which has coloured my view on life in general. Until I can come to terms with it all, no matter where I go, there’ll be bitterness. So, actually, I retract all the negative sentiments, and ask you take em with a grain of salt. Let’s hope the court case that’s coming up, helps me swallow the bitter pill. But enough about me, what’s happening in your life? :blink:November 27, 2011 at 11:29 am #514414bushyMember
I like your reply foc, many ppl here have a dummy spit and storm off, you have explained how you felt then and I think we all feel that way sometimes.
I hope you remain an active member on ALS.
Good luck with your move.November 27, 2011 at 11:35 am #514415calliecatParticipant
