My luffa vine has been extra vigorous this season and I have luffas and luffa seeds coming out of my ears! :S
If you want to send me a PM and send me a stamped, self addressed envelope I can send you luffa seeds.
They are good climbers- like the choko. Young fruit can be eaten. Older fruit can be dried for musical shakers for children or used in the bathroom to clean bodies and bathrooms, in the kitchen to replace green scourers and in the bottom of pots to stop the potting mix escaping. When they are all tired you just pop them in the compost.
Hi I would love some luffa seeds but how do I pm you?
I did pm you – would like some seeds please.

Can a Luffa expert give me some tips on germination?
I harvested significant luffa and seeds this year, so many seeds I harvested from one actual fruit only, and threw the rest away. I germinated the original vine mid-Summer, from memory. I have attempted once so far, but zero germination (from harvested seed). Are they a soil temperature specific plant?
My plan at this point is go for a October germination if nothing happens any time soon.
I bought some a while back and was holding of planting until some rain was forecast.
Do I treat them like cucumbers or aren’t they as thirsty ?
to be honest my cucumbers died but my luffa vine took over the entire vege patch! I thought i was going to come out one morning and find it knocking on the back door :woohoo:
Were you able to catch up with my pm please, girlfriday?
Have pmed you 🙂
do you still seeds left?
do you still have any seeds left? I know its very late but as life goes on time runs twice as fast…..
I always have seeds left- the vines are growing up everywhere! 😉
