    Looks good
If theres no room for chooks maybe bantams or quails may work.
It depends on wants and needs obviously.

We are in the northern suburbs of Perth Western Australia. It is winter here, which is when it rains, but we have a very long hot dry season. The soil is sandy and pretty gutless. We have mulched for 20 years to build up the soil and have drip irrigation on mains, so there is nothing to spare in the water department.

When the tree take off they create a microcimate which makes everything else cope better. In the front garden, the double carport on the west shades the garden from the late afternoon sun, and neighbour’s trees from the early morning sun from the east.
The back is hotter. We put up lots of shade in the summer.
