Hi. I have just joined due to a link suggesting the forum here on the Facebook page. I had no idea this existed so I thought I’d try it out.
My name is Frances, but people call me Frankie. I am a 31yo mum of 2, a girl starting school and a 3yo boy. I work part time as a dog groomer.
My life up until now has been anything but simple but it seems wrong to me. I notice that my time spent simply was the most enjoyable time so I began to look into ways to make it so. I’m only at the beginning of my journey.
I’m in my second season of vege growing (having had a break over the winter while moving). My other goals are cooking more foods myself, eating more whole foods, buying less new things, avoiding plastics, learning new skills. The end goal is to move to the country and have a small farm where I can grow most of my food.
I’m highly interested in cob homes.
Another thing I’ve done is stop watching TV. I’ll still watch the occasional movie with hubby but most weeks will be TV free. I am not forcing others in the house to do this so the TV is still on unfortunately preventing me from enjoying the quiet but it’s nothin of interest to me and therefore does not take me out of the present and allowing me to get thing done and use my time wisely.
I look forward to getting to know you all
hi Frankie, lovely to see you, join in wherever you see fit 🙂
Hello Frankie welcome to ALS, I am sure you will find lots of useful information here.
Hello Frankie 🙂
Hi Frankie, welcome.
Hi Frankie, I’m new too, but not from Facebook – I was just wandering around the internet and accidentally stumbled in here lol! I have no idea what a cob house is.
A cob house is made mostly of clay. I think they mix straw in too. You can mould it and make unique designs and is one of the most environmentally friendly building options. Kind of like making pottery you can live in
Hi Frankie and welcome. We all have to start our simple living journey somewhere. Knowing you want a simpler life is the first step. I started with 2 chooks and a no-dig garden on a 420m2 block in an inner city housing development. Now I live on a 25 acre farm in the Adelaide Hills. I’ll update my farm log asap. I hope you enjoy the site 🙂
I gotta get me a cob house!
Welcome Frankie… I am obsessed and self-proclaimed expert in finance LOL… Just ask me about finance, I think it will benefit both of us…
