I thought I might start a thread to record issues with the new forum as we come across them. This may help Dan and Geoff. Or not… 🙂
Anyway, my first issue is when accessing the site on my iPad using the Chrome browser, I keep having to log back in if I leave the app and come back to it. When I use Chrome on a Windows desktop or Safari on the iPad I remain logged in and it all works well. It doesn’t remember my credentials on the iPad either so I keep having to type my full username and password in.
Also the timestamp under the list of who is online now is about six or seven minutes into the future.
I also noticed that when posting this discussion (using Chrome on a Windows 7 PC) that the ‘Post Discussion’ and ‘Save Draft’ buttons aren’t active. The ‘Preview’ and ‘cancel’ buttons seem to work ok. I was able to post this by going to Safari on the iPad, opening up the saved draft copy and posting.June 4, 2014 at 3:42 am #535841
There are a couple of different editors available, but they all seem to have some issues which might take some ironing out. Can you try with this latest editor and let us know?June 4, 2014 at 3:46 am #535842
Yes, the buttons are all active now when starting a new discussion using Chrome on Windows 7. However there was no flashing cursor in this comment box until I started typing. No biggie there but it is a bit disconcerting.June 4, 2014 at 3:48 am #535843
I like the editing buttons in this editor though… 🙂June 4, 2014 at 4:00 am #535844
Seems this editor doesn’t get the “focus” straight away, hence the invisible cursor.
:bz It does seem to have a lot of little smiley things to take away the pain though.June 5, 2014 at 12:39 am #535845
Another little thing. In the previous forums, clicking on a link would open a web page on a new tab. This version opens the link in the same tab. I would prefer that a new tab is opened but that is just my personal preference. Others might disagree. It’s looking good now. I think this version will be a winner. 🙂June 5, 2014 at 8:09 am #535846
I’ve tried several times to post ….. fingers crossed it works this time ……
I keep getting “page not found” might have more to do with my connection than the site, otherwise from what I can see it’s OKJune 10, 2014 at 11:45 pm #535847

What is “BB” ? Firefox doesn’t like my laptop either. it could just be me though.June 13, 2014 at 1:12 am #535850
It could be BB codes (bulletin board codes) for formatting posts or then again Judi might be referring to broadband.June 13, 2014 at 7:02 am #535851
Yeah broadband thanks Steve……
