If you ever find that you’re feeling flat a bit more than you’d like, I highly recommend researching some Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) sites 🙂 There are some that are great tools to help you work (or anyone you know, like your hubby when he’s ready) to work through depression and foster more positivity into your thoughts. It’s helped me and everyone else that I know that’s used it to build better lives 🙂
That said, I think you’re doing great from the sounds of it and it’s natural to be having a bit of a hard time given your circumstances. It must be so hard to lose a parent.
