I was wondering if anyone on here enters any of their crafts into shows/competitions (like at you local agricultural show)?
I was thinking about trying this with some of my needlework. I particularly enjoy doing cross stitch, but I was wondering if you are allowed to use a commercial kit or pattern or do you have to design it yourself like from a photo or something? I’ve searched the web, but haven’t been able to find an answer, and was wondering if someone here might know.
From my very limited experience, using a commercial pattern or kit is no problem. The particular show/s you are interested in entering your crafts into should have a guide available for you with the protocols for having your work judged, eg, how will you present it, does it have to be framed etc. Contact the show society and see if they can send you the information you need.
