For those who are interested in things like produce swaps, community gardens, verge gardens, making gardens more edible or just want to meet Costa or Sophie from Gardening Australia you might want to check out this event.
From my understanding it is going to involve a bit of networking (linking people who are interested in doing something with those who can make it happen) as well as a couple of presentations.
For those who are on Facebook this is the “event” page https://www.facebook.com/events/547159045405723/?fref=ts

Good people of Adelaide, it’s time to get your beard on and prepare to join us on June 15th. Costa Georgiadis and Sophie Thomson will be leading the charge in an action packed afternoon, designed to edible-ize Adelaide, and help your food growing project come alive. Here’s some details on what you can expect:
Like our Brisbane event, we’ll be holding a Costa look-alike contest, with an awesome prize (take our word for it) for the winner. Can Adelaide have more Costa’s than Brissy? We’ll see! In either case, photo opportunities will abound whether you’ve got your beard and overalls on or not.
Remember to bring your best homegrown fruit and veg for what could become the biggest produce swap ever held in the southern hemisphere. We need your produce to make it happen, so be there and get growing!
The founders of RipeNearMe will be there, and you’ll get to meet the team, ask questions and say “hi”. We’ll be exploring how the simple act of mapping food can change our landscape, food security, and wellbeing dramatically. RipeNearMe will also be fundraising at the event, so you will have the option to support the platform’s growth and development if you choose.
Importantly, we also want to hear all about your gardening plans and dreams. Got a great idea for a community garden, or want to convert your lawn to a productive, edible landscape? You’ll have the opportunity to meet people who can help you get your ideas off the ground.
We’re also really pleased to let you know that every registered (adult) attendee will get a free glass of wine*. Juice, soft drinks and water will be available for minors and those who’d prefer not to drink.May 11, 2014 at 7:51 pm #535691froot_loopzMember
