something i have noticed with all the exercise gurus flogging their latest DVD. is they tell you to take some time for yourself and do their workout. i always think that if i’m taking time for myself it ain’t gonna be leaping up and down in front of the TV! 😀

I am too, E. :hug::hug::hug:
I feel like a bit of a cheat on this thread because I have been ‘taking time for myself’ for many years now and I find I ‘do’ it almost without thinking. So….
I watched a fantastic electrical storm in the early hours of the morning, instead of sleeping. Wow………….
Enjoyed the sound of the rain not just on the roof but also on the trees……….magnificent!
Took time out from stitching [which I love to do anyway] and sat and watched the clouds go by…..so beautiful…….

bobbee.mini purplete is a tiny purple onion. the only kind i seem to be able to grow. you can use just the tops like chives or wait a bit longer and use them like a spring onion. they grow all year up here.:D
head feeling better due to much sitting down and relaxing on this web site thanksGM4L. NOT SO SURE PLANTING IS GONNA HAPPEN TODAY
herbman; just love cross stitch.unfortunately the eyes aren’t so crazy about it these days. am gonna have a go at a couple of little name samplers for the grandchildren of a couple of friends though. another retirement project!November 1, 2009 at 5:54 am #438183
I soaked my feet for half an hour – lovely feeling that. And gave them a good pampering as well.November 1, 2009 at 7:25 am #438184
Sue E – Cross stitch is so lovely isn’t it. I started making cross-stitches for all the babies in my family. Fortunately, everyone has now stopped breeding so hopefully I can catch up with the cross stitches. There are 8 kids and only 4 cross-stitches are finished 😉
When we were in China I saw people doing it everywhere – the only time I’ve seen anyone else cross-stitching. They had really lovely patterns and they were really cheap. But I’ve got three to complete and am only half-way through the first (I get big ones that take months to finish).
Looking forward to cross-stitching tonight because didn’t get very far this morning. Do have some lovely food though 🙂 🙂November 2, 2009 at 7:06 am #438185
I finally got around to getting myself a massage. I was a week late but better late than never.:D
This week I am going to start on my project to turn my DS old bedroom into my sanctuary.
First thing is to paint over the fire engine red wall then taking down the blinds and making some ‘me’ type curtains.
SO EXCITING!!!!November 2, 2009 at 7:11 am #438186

I haven’t done much but what i did do that i know will seem odd to some but i loved it was stand in the rain in my veggie patch area checking for slugs/snails ect:lol:
My DS1 has just gone to hosp with DH cos he woke up not being able to breathe, i think its croup. He was fine when he went to bed but the other 2 have been unwell and i’m stuffed!
Hence no me time cos if it isnt the children or DH /House its bed when i can. 🙂

How’s your DS GothicMumma? I hope he’s okay. It’s worrying when they’re sick and helpless.
For myself. I went for a bike ride from 10-11pm when everyone was in bed  I haven’t done something like that since I was a teenager, it was really peaceful! This morning DH looked after the boys so I could to to the pool, that was a first too. I have had a bad case of cabin fever lately 🙁November 9, 2009 at 3:51 am #438190
I had a midnight bath last night :tup:November 9, 2009 at 4:54 am #438191

Today I spent the day carriage driving. I managed to get quite sunburnt – doh! ‘Twas very peaceful all the same!!November 9, 2009 at 8:47 am #438193
Carriage driving – like horse and carriage? That sounds awesome. Do we get pics?
Elf – the bike ride sounds glorious!
Friday night I lay in my sleeping bag under the stars for a few hours and then under a tarp while it rained. Almost fell asleep out there.
Sunday night I sat out in the native food forest on a chair and watched the gum trees sway up against the night sky.
But all I really want is a full night’s sleep without waking up screaming with nightmares … That would be the best ‘thing for me’ I can imagine. It’s been months since it happened. Poor DW – I wake her up every night. It’s wrecking me. Does anyone have any tips?November 9, 2009 at 9:47 am #438194
Why the nightmares Andy:hug:
I guess you have tried meditation .
I have some great audiobooks to quiet those inner voices if you would like they have helped me:kiss:
Bobbee I’m like you atm by myself with hubby away at work and kids grown up.
Sat for an hour this morning watching the goings on in my bird feeders.king parrots rainbow lorikeets ,red wing parrots ,great eastern rosellas ,2 ducks and a lots of pigeons.Very entertaining .Then the termites took offin the rain and the sky was full of swooping insect eating birds putting on a wonderful aerobatic display .Amazing:D
