Hi Guy’s an Gal’s,
Ok so some members have never used IRC before. IRC stands Internet Relay Chat and has been around for years. It doesn’t use much bandwidth and people on dialup have been using IRC for chatting for years too.
In order to use the IRC chatroom one will need to instal a IRC client, Personally I use Icechat so I will show how to connect the server to get into the chatroom.
First we need to goto View/ Server List then click on Add New Server, it will bringup the box below
Type in irc.albury.net.au in the box then click next then the following window to comeup just click next
Next the auto channel join list will come up so type in #als ( # is needed)
The next window you add your nicname
Then after that window just click next.
Nearly there click next again
This is the last window so click Save then Connect now and you should find yourself in the chatroom.
Thanks ruddy for the detailed instructions….
bumping thread for those who haven’t seen it.
