My son has got the cooking bug, does anyone have a recipe for chilli sauce, sweet or otherwise, that they could share please?
Tell him to google it found a lot of good recipes Im still picking mine need a kilo to make my paste
No but i’m keen to hear of any too!
Havent been here for a while seems photo bucket doesent work
very impressive salami
Re chilli sauce I make a few different ones
A tray of hot chillies roasted, then blend and add sugar ,salt and vinegar all to taste.
Its a good tomato sauce substitute. with a kick, you can dilute it by adding tomato sauce to it if its too much kick.
Then seal in sterilised jars
Im very happy with bishops caps not too hot and a bit of flavour.
I also make one with birdseyes and its use a small amount in stir frys or chilli con carne (dangerous stuff)
Birds eyes in vinegar and salt makes a good Tabasco sauce substitute( lots of vinegar) leave for a few months to infuse blend or just use the chillis and the vinegar
Hi AUSSIEDOWNUNDER, you have to use the direct link for photobucket i.e. without the URLs or img tags.
Just making a batch of a siracha type one at the moment…fermenting chillies garlic sugar salt vinegar and water for 3 to 5 days
