I am considering joining a group of people who intend to set up a Centre for Renewable energy and Environment, later this year. Though I am not sure yet if I will.

I was wondering if anybody knows if and where something like that exists in Australia?

As far as I see it will be a non profit organisation for education and research (or experimenting). Some subjects: Low tech solar heating, low tech wind turbines, Aquaponics without electricity, Cob building, Tadelakt. To be taught in weekend courses or longer, and to offer opportunities to develop and test new technologies.

I have been involved in most of those subjects in the past more or less, so I am very interested, but I must wait for a decision if it will be set up on the outskirts of Sydney or if it will be too far away from me.

I would be interested to know if there are organisations like that in Australia already. Would anybody know something?

    Hey there Dan,

You may like to have a peek at the Mount Alexander Sustainability Group

I had a little bit of involvement with MASG when I lived in Central

Victoria and they were doing some great things.

    Hey Dan,

There is also the Macarthur Centre for Sustainable living.
