Hi I have bought some natural honey from a farmers market a few days ago and on opening it this morning found it has a lot of tiny black speckles floating on top. Is this normal or a sign not to eat it? Maybe it is something that is normally filtered out? Its definitely not mould. Any ideas?
My guess is, it hasnt been filtered with a fine sieve, normal for all the “extra” bits to rise to the top. If the honey isnt heated it doesnt flow thru so well, maybe they dont heat their honey (which is good) and so therefore you get more particles on top. Just get a spoon and scrap the top off, its fine to eat either way.
I agree with busylizzie 🙂
